Josephine Crawford: CoFounder and Matriarch of the Orth Family Business
Pat Orth: Owner-Manager and Bookkeeper/Secretary
Our Three Daughters: Michellle Orth Glick, Alicia Orth Weeks, and Amy Orth.
Michelle Orth Glick: A graduate of Richard Stockton College of New Jersey (BS Mathematics)  A teacher of mathematics in a private girls High School is presently on family leave.  Michelle operates our grooming facilities and is Assistant Manager of the boarding kennel.
Jordan and Cana (Michellee's daughters) are regular fixtures in and around the kennel and help their Pop-Pop with the morning play and afternoon treats for our guest, making this four generations of the Orth family working together.
Alicia Orth Weeks: A graduate of Rutgers University and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.  while very busy in her career is still willing and able to assist her parents during our busy times.
Amy Orth: A graduate of Rutgers University with a BS in Animal Science, teaches science at Absegami High School and works in the family business on weekends, holidays, and our busy summer months.

Some key points to remember:

  • Play Time at the Kennel - Each dog has a quiet time at midday and play time in the afternoon.  Our afternoon play time consists of selecting three to four dogs of similar size and personality to participate in a supervised group environment.
  • All dogs which stay with at our kennel must have an updated immunization record and an attending veterinarian.
  • Any dog that arrives at Absecon Pet Center carrying fleas or ticks won't leave with them; dogs showing signs of these pests will be dipped before coming in contact with other dogs.
  • The facility is completely indoors, and the dogs are not exposed to the weather, heat, cold, parasites, fleas, ticks, flies, or mosquitoes.
  • At your request, you dog can be walked every day in an area specially treated for fleas and ticks.
  • Each dog is walked twice per day and fed twice per day.  While we do not require the owner to supply their pet's food, we do encourage continuing a pet's current diet.  If an owner prefers, we will use our Iams Lamb and rice dry food and Mighty Dog canned food at no additional charge.  We also have a refrigeration and a micro waving service available for those who which to supply pre-prepared meals for their pet.
